For a long-haul flight, allow 2 hrs 30 to 3 hrs at the airport before departure. For a 9 am flight, that means leaving Strasbourg around 4 am, to cover the drive and keep a margin.
Leaving at 4 am with your luggage to catch a train, then changing trains en route, is not a practical option. This is one of the cases where a chauffeur makes the most sense, along with late-evening returns, families, groups and heavy luggage.
